The Annual Meeting of the Oregon Tuba Association will be on February 15th, 2018.  6:30 p.m. at Grace Lutheran Church at 710 E. 17th St.  Eugene, OR.

55 tuba players joined the Oregon Tuba Association for the Annual Tuba Carol Concert.  This year’s concert was dedicated to Jim Newell, founding member of the OTA.

Jim Newell, one of the original founders of the Oregon Tuba Association and the Oregon Tuba Ensemble, has died after a brief illness at the age of 91.

The OTE begins it’s Spring 2015 season on April 25 in Eugene at Saturday Market, and follow that with a trip to Corvallis on May 3rd for the Corvallis Garden Faire.  Both performances will be at 2:00. 

On December 6th, 52 tuba and euphonium players gathered in Springfield for the 36th Annual Tuba Carol Concert, sponsored by Sani Pac and hosted by the Oregon Tuba Association.  Our players ranged in age from 14 to 92.  Andy Schanz directed the massed tubas and the Oregon Tuba Ensemble.  An overflow crowd enjoyed the music and the fun.

Come and celebrate Christmas in Springfield, OR by coming to our 35th annual Tuba Carol Concert at Two Rivers/Dos Rios Elementary School in Springfield (just blocks from the parade route).  The concert will be at Noon on December 6th.

Players:  Come and join us with your euphonium or tuba.  Register at 8:30 a.m., Rehearse from 9-11, and concert at Noon.  Music will be on sale at registration ($5.00) and available by request on line to oregontubaassociation.com (you’ll need to pay at registration.) Please dress in festive Holiday attire, bring a stand, and have some fun making the best kind of music there is.  

On November 11, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. the Oregon Tuba Ensemble will team up with the Creswell VFW Post to honor Veterans in a ceremony in front of the Fire Station at 55 S 1st.

The Oregon Tuba Ensemble played for runners during the Butte to Butte Eugene 10K run, for Eugene’s  Summer in the City Concert in the park in July, and in August played for the unveiling of the Simpson’s Mural in downtown Springfield.

The Oregon Tuba Ensemble plays a variety of performance locales:  Farmer’s Markets, Garden Festivals, Concerts in the Park, Fundraisers, Public Events just to name a few.

Once again, Michael Grose invited members of the OTE to participate in a Master Class at the University of Oregon.  In addition to performing at Beall Hall on International Tuba Day, we got to see some of our scholarship students in action…and learn a lot from Dr. Swoboda!
